What these schemes do
Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) provides health cover of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year for hospitalisation at empanelled hospitals. Rajasthan runs its state health insurance scheme, the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya (MAA) Yojana, alongside PM-JAY. Benefits and eligibility are notified by the governments, so always check the latest details.
Who is eligible
- Families eligible under the scheme lists and state criteria
- All senior citizens aged 70 and above under PM-JAY, regardless of income
- Other categories as notified by the Rajasthan government
Getting the card
Check eligibility on the official PM-JAY portal or app, or at a Common Service Centre or empanelled hospital help desk. Keep Aadhaar and your Jan Aadhaar or ration card details ready for verification.
Using the scheme
- Go to an empanelled hospital and contact the scheme help desk (Arogya Mitra)
- Show your card or get verified with Aadhaar
- Treatment covered under the scheme is cashless
- Keep copies of discharge papers and bills
What is usually not covered
Out-patient consultations, many routine tests not linked to admission, and procedures not listed in the scheme packages are usually not covered. Ask the help desk before treatment.
